It's easy to dismiss the music of this cute, vegan, bare-pated relative of Herman Melville, especially if you don't actually listen to the music and focus instead on his ultra-PC interview style or the manner in which he sold dozens of songs to commercials and film soundtracks back in Y2K. But to do so is to knee-jerkedly miss out on some very fine and innovative music by one of the most influential musicians of the last decade. With the exception of two tracks (one of them the title tune), Go is a best-of from the years that Moby's been on the V2 label, from 1999's breakthrough hit Play onward. But Play--with its uncanny reworking of field recordings with playful beats and ambient textures--remains the artist's finest moment. A full disc of remixes and a smattering of unreleased songs (including a rad new number with Debbie Harry on guest vocals) make this an essential purchase for rabid fans. And, as a judicious selection of Play-era material is included alongside the finest songs from Moby's subsequent albums, 18 and Hotel, this is also the perfect entry point for the more casual fan. --Mike McGonigal

The only definitive greatest hits collection chronicling Moby's entire career. It also features new and previously unreleased material - (1) new single "New York, New York" with Blondie's Debbie Harry (2) two new mixes - including one of "GO," his debut commercial smash (3) a live version of "Feeling So Real." The DELUXE EDITION features an 11-track BONUS remix CD personally compiled by Moby and includes the legendary "Bodyrock" Olav Basoski remix. The deluxe edition tracks are NOT available on ANY Moby full-length CD.

Go - The Very Best Of Moby compiles 15 songs from Moby's unique back catalogue, including seminal tracks from the multi-million and multi-platinum selling albums Play and 18. Album also contains brand new, previously unavailable song `New York, New York' (featuring Blondie's Debbie Harry!). The release features Opendisc technology allowing exclusive access to six previously unreleased, free downloads as well as a photo gallery and videos all introduced with a special greeting from Moby.

UK Edition of Reluctant Rocker Richard Melville Hall's 2006 Anthology of Greatest Hits. The 15 Tracks Chronicle his Career Up to 2006 and Includes the Exclusive, Previously Unreleased Single "new York, New York" with Vocals from Nyc Icon and Blondie Frontwoman Debbie Harry. The Set also Includes a 2006 Mix of "go" (The Track that Started it All), a Live Version of "feeling So Real" Recorded in London, and a New Mix of "in My Heart".

    Moby rocks!2010-07-165 / 5
I originally wanted to get The Bourne movie soundtrack, but figured I can still get the song I wanted from them (Extreme Ways) and get the best of Moby as well. I'm not disappointed. And the price for a double CD was fantastic. Can't beat it.
    Watch where you buy it?2009-07-061 / 5
Depending on which store delivers it you might not get what "EXACTLY" you think you ordered. As per the Moby website/wikipedia http://www.moby.com/discography/go_very_best_moby.html
Five different versions of Go - The Very Best of Moby were released in different regions of the world. Each version contains different songs, based on the singles and their popularity in that region. All songs are edited versions of the album mixes, unless noted. You might not be delivered the one you wanted.
    Great addition to Play2009-05-035 / 5
Great Moby songs and Fun to listen to, simply add this to CD Play and your Moby set is pretty much complete.
    Such a relief...2008-11-215 / 5
Nowadays I found is very hard to get great albums and by great I mean albums that you can hear from start to finish without skipping any track and finding yourself going back to the songs to hear those again and again. Thats how I declare an album a favorite of mine. As I was saying, lately its being very hard for me to get and album like this and the thing I like the most about this album (I know its a greatest hit album...) is that just when you think you have had enough of good songs and that there is no way to be more impressed there comes another song equally or even better than the last song. This album has such merits and is now, in my 1000+ cd collection one of my favorites. Thanks Moby.
Great especially if you like fashion show catwalk music.2008-05-013 / 5
Meh, I don't like fashion show catwalk music. And the bonus disc is just full of the hypey-techno-push dance tunes, a genre I really, really don't like.

There are several cuts I do like a lot on here, but wish I'd have got -18- instead.
