LSD splendidly documents the influential output of Michael Cretu, a techno-bohemian who successfully creates cinematic, otherworldly New Age-like musical suites. Now, more than a decade removed from the arrival of
Sadeness (Part 1) and its eyebrow-raising mix of sacred and sensual subplots, people can debate whether Cretu's music represents savvy commercial calculation or satisfying art.
LSD suggests a split decision, though tracks with intriguing blends of atmosphere and rhythm, such as "Gravity of Love," "T.N.T. for the Brain" and "Morphing Thru Time," reveal an inventiveness that demonstrates Cretu is capable of more than sophisticated novelty tunes. Two new songs, neither especially noteworthy, open this package. Meanwhile, remastered older tracks segue beautifully to exude a satisfying, seamless unity. Big bonus: run time exceeds 76 minutes.

I love Enigma too. Just so you are aware. There is a new incredible music composer/artist who has 4 brilliant albums out on and Itunes. Ambient Nights Vol 1, Ambient Nights Vol 2, Darkness Within Vol 1, and A Journey Home. The artist name is Richard Myles, and I have become a HUGE fan of his music. If you love ambient, techno, dance, New Age, R &B, Jazz all into one incredible album check out his 4 albums. They are really hot.

While I tend to enjoy B-sides more than A's, this is still a great compilation of some of Enigma's best stuff.
What else need be said? It's a must have album for anyone that enjoys electronic-based music. |

Love Sensuality Devotion was the first Enigma album that I bought and from the first day that I bought it, I was never sorry. I knew about about Enigma before buying this album since my dad listened to it when I was young. I didn't remember any of the songs but became interested in the band/project when I was 14. Looking at all of the Enigma CDs on the store shelf I decided to go with a Greatest Hits album and I am glad that I did. The music is sort of a blend of new age, hip hop beats (or trip hop), and something else but it is unlike anything else out there. You can listen to it quietly or pump up the volume and hear all of the little things hidden in this layered music.
This album represents the First World of Enigma and features music from the first 4 albums. Hits like Sadeness, Mea Culpa, Beyond the Invisible, Return to Innocence are included.
This is a great album because it gives the listener a taste of Enigma music. Now, I have all of the albums from the band/project but I still pop this one into my stereo.
If you have heard of Enigma or one of Enimga's songs and want to see what music Michael Cretu (the man behind Enigma) has to offer, check out this album. Beware of one thing though. This album represents the first four albums. The albums that came after Love Sensuality Devotion have a different sound to them (although they still have that Enigma feel to them). If you are a fan or just someone who is curious, check this album out! |

| Ok...I have been listening to Enigma for years! I've tried other artists that were supposed to have the "same" type sound...NO COMPARISON IN ANY WAY SHAPE, FORM OR FASHION!! They don't even touch his style and genious in any way! All of his songs are just pure sensuality in my mind...deep beats, hypnotic voices, other worldly evoking feelings...Michael Cretu is just the bomb...LOL don't know what else to say! YOU WILL FALL IN LOVE WITH ANY OF HIS ALBUMS...TRUST ME!!! |
