Fearless is the 2008 sophomore album from Taylor Swift, the young Country singer/songwriter who charmed the hearts and charts of America beginning with her debut single 'Tim McGraw'. Her triple-platinum self-titled debut release has scanned over 3.4 million units and spent more weeks at #1 than any other Country album this year: 24 weeks! Taylor is the only Country female artist to have five Top 10 singles from a debut album and the only Country female vocalist this decade to reach the Top 5 on Billboard's Hot 100 Chart. Needless to say, she's a sensation that has only just begun to show what she is capable of. 13 tracks including the single 'Love Story' and 'Change', first heard during the 2008 Summer Olympics. --This text refers to the Audio CD edition.

I gotta say, unless she seriously screws up in the future I'll probably buy more of her albums. I was exposed to Taylor's self-titled debut thanks to my mother, who bought it after hearing the admittedly rather overplayed Tim McGraw on a local country station. I wasn't a fan initially (in fact the aforementioned song tended to get on my nerves when I'd hear it on the radio), but then my mom played the CD on a long car trip and my displeasure softened first into indifference and ultimately became liking. So I was excited when, in 2008, I learned that Taylor's second album would be due out in November. I received it as a Christmas present that same year. Standout tracks for me are the title track, which has a little bit of a rock vibe to it (there are quite a few songs with that same feel actually), Fifteen, Tell me Why, You Belong with Me and Forever and Always. Others I like are The Best Day, which is a tribue to Taylor's family and in particular her mom, Breathe (admittedly a rather downing track that for some bizarre reason once served as the background music in a dream I had in which I had to give up my cat), and You're Not Sorry, which any CSI fan will remember was remixed and featured in the same episode in which Taylor herself was a guest star. And while the subject matter of the song and the episode in question are different, hearing it in the context of the episode put a rather disturbing spin on it that gave me chills.
All in all I think Fearless is an excellent album. As with her debut I like more or less every song on this album, which is quite rare for me. I'm not a big country fan but I'm definitely a Taylor fan. |

| Taylor Swift is a very talented singer & songwriter. This is a GREAT CD!! |

| I am not really a Taylor Swift fan, but after listening to this album. It was very good. The songs didn't register to me until 'Love Story' and 'You Belong With Me', after the controversy of Taylor vs Carrie Underwood's music. I think she is going to make it, so if you are looking for a good Country Album. This is it. Go Taylor! |

Ever since I heard the singles "Love Story" and "White Horse", I've liked the music of Taylor Swift. I guess that some of my FFA aggie peers influenced my interest in the new pop-country, though I've always liked country music anyway.
The music of "Fearless" is hardly what one would call true country, but it does have some influences and a sound that attains to its origins (for example, banjos playing in the background of "Love Story" and "You Belong With Me"). Taylor's voice occasionally has a feel that hits close to the country home, and yet never quite makes you think she's a country gal. Nevertheless, her voice is unique in sound and has a certain charm to it. There are a couple of songs here that overpower her voice with guitar and other enhancements, such as "The Way I Loved You" and "Forever and Always", which is really a shame, since her voice has a tendency to be quiet. Overall I recommend this CD to anyone that likes the new country wave or pop lovers, since it appeals to both.
Finally (in my opinion), the top 5 songs to buy as singles: "The Best Day", "White Horse", "Fifteen", "You Belong With Me", and "Love Story". |
